It's just a phase, it's just a phase

It's just a phase, it's just a phase, it's just a phase, it's just a phase .......

Mind me having to repeat it again and again.....I need to convince myself that this is so.

Boyboy has been having tantrums of late. We feel it especially at night since we can never have a proper night's sleep.

He will wake up every 2-3 hours. It has been happening for the pass 4 nights now! And he will cry and cry, push and pull, squirm and arch...

Pacifying is literally un-workable.

I am hoping this is a phase. I am thinking he is starting to teeth but I don't feel anything at all.

There was no concrete reason for his fever which is gone now (thank God).
Is there any reason at all for his tantrums?

On the lighter side...
He tried barley on Saturday and loved every drop of it. Fininshed his 2 oz within 3 hours...in between his milk and water!

It's most likely teething and it will pass, although it doesn't come soon enough for the parents. :-)

Maybe he is feeling uncomfortable, and most likely is teething. Heard that rubbing some bonjela on baby's gum will help to relief the discomfort, you may try.

Andrewjune - yeah with that amount of crying I reckon have to use the Windy Oil for his tummy! You use that in Penang? Was first recommended by a Penang aunty actually!

Florence - yeah I think I should repeat to myself "Take it easy, take it easy, take it easy"!!!

HI - totally agree with you....it doesn't come fast enough at all!

Karenyiau - really? hmm....but I don't feel any tooth yet! They say it takes some time to push out...wish it will push out soon!

Jonathan boy just did that to me yesterday night...again. I tried to be hard on him and just let him cry but unfortunately, he wouldn't stop nor tired of crying, in fact getting louder as if had a bad dream.

He cried even louder when I gave him pacifier. When I fed him water, he drank, stop then cry, drank, stop then cry. Then I carried him and he is still sniffing and cried once a while. At last, I have to offer him my breast then only he went back to sleep.

I guess it's just a phase...and will definitely pass thru...soon.

is there any weather change?
or maybe there's the issue of tummy wind (Ru Yi Oil would help)?

you are right on some level, it's just a phase....they will pass. but you must also watch out if your boy boy is just crying out for attention? if yes, you must slowly learn to pull out, if not, this phase will never stop.

barley is good...cools down the body! glad that your boy loves barley. Happy Dot hates barley....always spit them out when i coax, threaten, force, beg or any other tactic to get him to drink some...

Yes, the good news is that it is a phase, and things will get easier as they grow older, in relation to physical adjustments.

Remember I had one post called Max Mania (8 Aug 07)? :D

But then they will begin to demand more of you attention and time and still test you with their tantrums and mischievous ideas. But they also make you laugh and say the sweetest or the funniest things and make you day. :)

Hi Ann, I've lost touch with babies, but not the other kind of 'babes', *wink*.
But I guess a baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bank balance smaller, home happier, clothes dirty, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.
Never mind Ann, before long, he'll be fine and before you know it, he'll be introducing to you, "mom, meet my friend, Dixie".
Ha ha, just kidding.
You have a nice day, Ann. Lee.
ps, Ahhh, you love to go for long walks on a moonlit beach? You sure the kind of lady I love to date as I too have ahemm, similar thoughts, ha ha.

yes it's the oil i'm refering to about...sometimes they might hv tummy upset due to the trapped wind...can at least try rubbing on his tummy and see if it works :-)

Babies are really full of suprises arent they? We never know what to expect at each stage of their growth. Just observe him for a few more days and see how it goes.

Hubby and I still struggle with our 2.4 years old toddler's sleeping habits. Occasionally, he either sleeps late - 1 or 2 am in the morning or gets up 3 or 4 am in the morning. I have learned to be patient and to ignore his whinnings. Hubby is learning not to scream at him or smack him. Smacking works most of the time but I don't encourage it. So, I always remind hubby to ignore him. Be patient! Yeah, it's just a phase.
